Kudos to ANYONE making both rounds in under 10… That was incredibly difficult…. Wallballs always kill me… Def an area to improve in for me… Awesome job, Kelly! And Paolo! That’s a blistering first round! Holy Cow!
Yeah, I agree with Mark- name of the game is to keep working. It’s all about what you’re strong at, as to what WOD means what for you. They were both equally as tough for me. For faster runners or rowers, probably not so much. Anyway, if your coach says “pick it up” or “keep moving” or “no more rest,” just listen and do it and you can make it under 10! I was skeptical, but it can be done!
Thanks go to Ben, Sadler, Paolo, and Emily for pushing me along and giving me something to chase after! I made it…barely. Whew!
In the end, I’m not sure it matters that much. I pushed our team to choose WOD2 first also. My thinking was that running after rowing is brutal (ever done “Jerry”?) WOD2 definitely takes less time. But if you do WOD2 first, you have more time to rest between WOD2 and WOD1. And if WOD2 takes less time you’d think leaving it second would leave more time to get through it. But you have less rest doing WOD1 first.
In the end, don’t over think it. Just bust it out at 110% and you’ll complete them both in under 10 minutes!
Yikes! I just noticed the time limit component…. Ha!
If you split into groups and you get to choose what you start with I suggest starting with the rowers and cleans. I chose for my group at 6:30 and picked wall balls and sand bags first and with hindsight that was not the right choice. Ben will probably kill me for posting this.
My apologies to Nantz, Shannon, and Simone for that choice. I think my group suffered for it.
On the flip side, Emily, Paolo, and Kelly all completed both WODS which was impressive to watch. Congratulations to all three of you. Great job.
But just thought of something – I’m fairly certain it won’t be an issue at 12:30 (me! ha!), but what will you do for other time slots?
Last I saw there were only two sets each of 35#/25# DB’s…. Wait – maybe those black rubber 25#’s makes 4 of those…
I’m thinking our champs will have to go Rx+… but most likely willingly! Ha!
Lord have mercy…..
